First of all, a huge thank you to all the volunteers and members who helped make this year’s event such a success.
RCRA NSW LARGE SCALE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS — 2026 RACE REPORT
From the canteen, scrutineering and race control through to all the behind-the-scenes work, NSWRCRCC put on a flawless event, with racers leaving at the end of the weekend in great spirits.
Congratulations to all the competitors who took part. It was fantastic to see full fields across almost all classes, with some seriously hard-fought battles throughout qualifying.
And the racing certainly didn’t ease up for the finals!
We were treated to some nail-biting and unforgettable racing, with plenty of surprises along the way. Congratulations to all the winners and podium finishers — every position was well earned.
A big thank you also goes to On Track RC Media for providing the streaming coverage across the socials. Coverage like this is a fantastic way to showcase our hobby and sport, raise awareness, and hopefully continue bringing more people into RC racing.
I’m certainly looking forward to watching the Sedan Final again myself!
1:5 BIKE — A BIG STEP FORWARD AT THE RCRA NSW LARGE SCALE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS — 2026 RACE REPORT
This weekend also saw one of our largest fields yet for 1:5 Bikes at a State Championship event, which was fantastic to see.
Even more exciting was having two competitors racing an RC bike for the very first time — not just their first race, but their first time actually using and racing an RC bike on track.
I was blown away by how quickly both of them were able to get up and running with just a little coaching and guidance.
As the weekend progressed, they became more and more consistent, circulating lap after lap while steadily increasing their speed and building the skills and confidence needed to push harder.
It was awesome to watch and even better to be a part of.
Seeing new riders get involved also sparked the interest of others who were keen to give the bikes a try. And let's be honest...
It's even more fun than it looks!
I have no doubt that next year's NSW State Championship will see more than a full field of Bikes lining up on the grid.

That concludes the RCRA Large Scale State Championship Series for 2026.
A massive congratulations once again to everyone who competed, volunteered, supported, organised and helped make the series what it is.

The 2026 Large Scale Nationals — our Grand Final — will be hosted by MRCCR inc. from 5th–8th November 2026.
